Community Sponsorship Opportunity

 Community Sponsorship Opportunity

Paragon Golf and Country Club will be celebrating our 60th Anniversary in 2023. We are very proud of our rich history in the golf community. We wish to grow our membership, and our presence in the community, especially at the grass roots level. We are currently in the process of updating and enhancing our Junior Program.

We believe that Junior golfers are not only the future of the game, but also the future of our Club and our community. We truly believe we are breaking new ground and are the first Club in the province to offer free golf, introducing new golfers to the game.

Our goal will be to establish a fund through community sponsorship that will enable Paragon to offer free golf, and membership to young golfers born between 2010-2016.

There will be no fees for participants within this age range, and we will have equipment available for the kids to use on a loan basis. We will also be holding golf clinics for Junior golfers throughout the summer, conducted by certified CPGA professionals, and talented volunteers.

We will also be bringing back our weekly Tuesday morning Junior Day. We will set aside tee times every Tuesday morning in July and August for this purpose. This will provide young golfers with a comfortable atmosphere where they can come out and play a round with their friends, or with their peers. Our program will conclude in late August with our Junior Club Championship.

We are looking to establish this program with the hopes that it will be sustainable for many years to come, and continue to benefit Paragon Golf and Country Club, and the greater community well into the future.

We intend to prominently display our Junior golf sponsors on a banner which will be on display at all Junior golf events. We will also provide marketing exposure via social media; including Facebook and Instagram. We will also use the Club’s website and our mass email capabilities to thank your organization for supporting Paragon’s Junior golf initiatives.

In closing we believe that Paragon will be the first club in Nova Scotia to officially offer free golf to young people in the community, and in a way, we are creating history with this very special program!!

This is a fantastic opportunity for your organization to get some great PR, while supporting an exciting new idea that we strongly believe will grow and improve moving forward.

MESSAGE TO MEMBERS

First of all I would like to wish everyone a warm welcome back to Paragon for the 2023 golf season; and another summer in the sun!!

I would like to share some details on a few items of interest around the Club:

PRACTICE RANGE STATUS

At the end of the 2022 season, the Men’s Night group kindly donated funding to the Club, and requested that these funds be used to rebuild the tee deck on the practice range. As a result, work began after the course closed last fall. Work has resumed already this spring, and we intend to sod the tee surface as soon as material becomes available; which should be soon. In the meantime the practice range will be open to the membership early next week. We will set up a provisional tee deck in front of the construction area to be used until such a time when the new tee deck is ready for play. We hope if all goes well, the new tee deck will be ready for mid June.

CART MARKERS

We will be reinstating the yellow stakes on the golf course this year. These are in place as directional markers to keep carts the proper distance from the greens.
In the weeks to come we intend to release several messages keeping the membership informed of ongoing work and improvements to our golf course. So stay tuned!!

POWER CARTS

We are very happy to announce that we will be taking delivery of 15 new power carts to add to our existing fleet, which will be arriving next week. Furthermore, we intend to implement a more enhanced maintenance program for our power cart fleet this year. We feel our carts are a very important part of our overall operation at Paragon, and we will be making several improvements to our cart fleet throughout the coming season.

 CLUB HOUSE

We are happy to announce that the Oaken Barrel Pub is back with us again this year to provide food and beverage service to our members and guests.

We are very excited about our new deck and patio area, which was constructed throughout the winter. We are currently putting the finishing touches on the deck, as well as several improvements to our kitchen. Management of the Oaken Barrel intends to have the Club House/Dining Room open by the first week of May. In the meantime refreshments will be available in the Pro Shop.

Stay tuned for an announcement on the hours of operation, and of an official opening date for the Club House.

We ask that you continue to monitor your emails, as more messages will be coming in the days and weeks to follow. We are very excited to began another season of golf and fun at our wonderful Club!! See you soon on the links!

Paragon Winter Message

Winter Message 2022
As the off season gets underway, the management of the club would like to remind everyone of a few important items that will assist us in taking care of the course as we get through the winter months.
We encourage all to get out for some exercise and walk the links this winter however no playing of the golf course is permitted. We would also ask that you pack out any garbage you may have and leave the property how you found it.
Although we do allow walking the course, we will not be allowing dog walking, as the amount of mess left behind in past years was too great.
Cross country skiing is permitted but we are asking that people avoid going across putting greens. The tracks left behind from skiing will freeze, thus causing damage to our greens, so we are asking that you please be mindful of this.
If you should have any questions, or if you should see anything untoward or that looks improper on your walks, around the course, please feel free to contact us at [email protected].
We thank you for your understanding and assistance and wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! Let’s hope for a safe and quick winter, so we can all get golfing again early next spring.

Men’s Day League Donation

On Tuesday October 18th, 2022,  Dave Potter, the Director of the Men’s Day Committee, presented generous donation to Paragon’s General Manager, Dave MacMillan  and President of the Board of Directors, Paul Moase.  This donation of money will be put towards the repairing of the tee boxes on our driving range.  Thank you too all the Men’s Day Committee and all the gentlemen that played this year in our Thursday Men’s Day League.
